Hiroi Presents — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Hiroi ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use Hiroi Presents (the "Service"). It is specific to Hiroi Presents and supplements the company‑wide Hiroi Privacy Policy; where they conflict for your use of Presents, this policy governs.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in we collect your email address. Hiroi Presents uses passwordless sign‑in (a magic link and/or a one‑time 6‑digit code), so we do not collect or store a password for the Service.
Content you provide. The decks, slides, text prompts, narration scripts, uploaded images and documents, and any voice recordings you submit for voice cloning. We process this content to generate, edit, render, and export your presentations.
Billing information. When you buy credits or a plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; we keep a record of the transaction, the credits granted, and your credit balance.
Usage and device data. Basic technical data such as IP address, browser/user‑agent, timestamps, and the actions you take in the Service (for example, sign‑in, deck creation, sharing, exports). Some of this is recorded in a security audit log.
Cookies. A single signed session cookie to keep you logged in. See Section 7.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

provide, operate, and secure the Service and your account;
generate and render presentations from your prompts and content, including AI text generation and text‑to‑speech narration;
process payments, manage your credit balance, and prevent abuse;
respond to support requests and communicate about the Service;
maintain security, detect and investigate fraud or misuse, and keep audit records; and
comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. AI generation and your content

Hiroi Presents generates slides and narration by sending your prompts and the relevant content to the shared Hiroi Voice/AI core, which runs on Microsoft Azure AI services. Voice narration is synthesized through Azure (the default, free voices) or, when you choose a premium/cloned voice, through ElevenLabs. We use your content to produce the output you request and to operate the Service; we do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train third‑party foundation models.

We share personal information only as described here:

Service providers (sub‑processors). We use vendors to run the Service, including Microsoft Azure (hosting, database, file storage, AI generation, and text‑to‑speech), Stripe (payments), ElevenLabs (premium and cloned‑voice text‑to‑speech), and an email delivery provider (sign‑in links and codes). These providers process data on our behalf under contract.
Sharing you initiate. If you create a public share link for a deck, anyone with the link can view that deck and its narration. Revoking the link disables public access.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Hiroi.
Business transfers. If Hiroi is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross‑context behavioral advertising.

5. Data retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Generated media and narration are content‑addressed and superseded files are garbage‑collected in the ordinary course. When you delete a deck, deactivate your account, or after account closure, we delete or de‑identify your content in the ordinary course, except where retention is required by law or for backups, security, or dispute resolution.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Hiroi Presents builds several of these directly into the product:

Export your data. Download a full JSON export of your account data from Account → Security & Privacy.
Deactivate your account. Deactivate (a reversible disable that ends all sessions) from Account → Security & Privacy. A permanent deletion request can be made via the contact below.
Revoke shares. Turn off any public share link at any time from the deck.

To exercise other rights, contact us at the address in Section 10. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

7. Cookies

We use a single, signed, HTTP‑only session cookie that is strictly necessary to keep you authenticated. We do not use advertising or cross‑site tracking cookies on the Service.

8. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, scoped access controls, a structured security audit trail, and other safeguards described on our Security & Trust page. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of incidents as required by law.

9. Children

Hiroi Presents is intended for users 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International users

Hiroi Presents is operated from, and processes data in, the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. If you use the Service from outside these locations, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data‑protection laws.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
